IYEC welcomes people across regions, identities, backgrounds, abilities, and stages of entrepreneurship. Be respectful, constructive, honest about credentials and interests, and careful with another person's time, safety, and confidential information.
Expected behaviour
- Give relevant, good-faith feedback and distinguish fact from opinion.
- Ask before recording, photographing, publishing, pitching, or adding someone to a list.
- Disclose conflicts, referral fees, investments, commissions, and commercial interests.
- Respect boundaries in mentoring, recruiting, fundraising, and direct messaging.
- Keep confidential material received in a private session or review confidential.
Unacceptable behaviour
Bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, intimidation, repeated unwanted contact, retaliation, coercive selling, plagiarism, deceptive claims, misuse of authority, unsafe conduct, and solicitation unrelated to the community are not permitted.
Events and safeguarding
Follow venue, health, safety, photography, accessibility, and staff instructions. Adults interacting with minors must maintain professional boundaries and comply with the Child and Youth Safety Policy. Report immediate danger to local emergency services first.
Consequences and reporting
IYEC may remove a person from a space, end a session, revoke credentials or membership, restrict future participation, or report serious conduct. Reports may be confidential but anonymity cannot always be guaranteed when fair investigation or law requires disclosure. Retaliation against a reporter or witness is prohibited.
